The Track is Bigger, Better at Duluth Snocross
November 28, 2008 by SnowGoer
Thanks to Mother Nature, the crew at Duluth, Minnesota’s Spirit Mountain had ideal conditions to make an abundance of snow for the kickoff to the International Series Of Champions (ISOC) season. Duluth, the long-time kickoff to the snocross and winter racing season, played host to ISOC’s return to terrain racing for the Amsoil Championship Snocross Series.
ISOC, proclaiming itself as the racer’s circuit, opened the track for practice to the race classes. Drivers were treated to the longest track the Duluth venue has constructed complimented with great snowcover. With a weather forecast ideal for both racing and spectating, it’s going to be a great Duluth race weekend.
Once again, the folks at Visit Duluth, the staff of Spirit Mountain have created an ideal atmosphere for the snocross season opener. With the new ISOC circuit in charge, racing went without a hitch on day one. In fact, the schedule was too efficient. After a long wait, fans were treated to high-flying, big-air tricks from the Monster Energy Slednecks Invasion Tour with riders Chris Burandt, Sam Rogers and Paul Thacker followed by a fireworks display.
A reminder to race fans coming this weekend: follow the signs for parking at the Proctor fairgrounds and take the shuttle bus to the snocross season kickoff. ISOC is off to a great start with a better-than-ever track.
