Tucker Hibbert Sweeps ISOC Duluth
November 30, 2008 by SnowGoer
Tucker Hibbert won his 40th career snocross race when he won the Pro Open final at the 17th Annual Amsoil Duluth National. Hibbert swept the event, winning the Pro Stock race Saturday.
Hibbert led the race from the holeshot and by race end built a half-lap lead over eventual second-place finisher second Ryan Simons. Like he did in the Pro Stock race the day prior, Simons was an endurance competitor working through the field of competitors to earn his finishing position from fourth after the start. TJ Gulla was the first rider to slot behind Hibbert and remained there through mid-race, but never put pressure on Hibbert.
Ross Martin was in third, and the first driver Simons worked past. At mid-race, Simons was putting pressure on Gulla to take second when Gulla had a small
getoff, making Simons’ move to second easy. Martin was back in third after the Gulla off, and the top-three stayed the same to the finish.
Brett Turcotte, after advancing through the LCQ round, made an impressive run and finished fourth.
