Bear Lake Hillclimb
February 9, 2009 by BAM Films
Extraordinary, was the word for this two day racing event. The snow level was lower than normal and this added to the challenge the racers faced. By the end of the finals, they were racing on mostly dirt.
This didn’t stop top names like Vinnie Clark, Justin Jacobson and Jeremy Osler.
Vinnie Clark and Keith Curtis battled it out in the final moments of the Stock King runs. Keith had won both the 600 and 700 stock classes, so he had two king runs. But he was underpowered against Vinnie’s 1000 cc SkiDoo. Vinnie Clark won Stock King with an incredible run.
Justin Jacobson, the local favorite, had one of the fastest times of the day winning the King title in Improved Stock and Jeremy Ozler (also known as The Oz) screamed up the hill and won Mod King on a Polaris.
The ladies has a great day of racing. World Champion Amy Zollinger, won both stock and improved stock. Newcomer, Christy Frisby took the ladies mod. These ladies can ride!
Because of snow conditions, the Two Dougs Hillclimb in Elko Nevada has been canceled. The next event on the RMSHA circuit will be the Afton Challenge in Afton, Wyoming. This is one of RMSHA’s biggest and most action packed events. It will be held February 27th – March 1st.
